JEF JALNA

About Us

Jalna Education Foundation (JEF) is a nonprofit registered public charitable trust (F6575(JA)).

JEF is a secular and non-political organization. JEF was set up in 2008 by several educationists and activists with the aim of improving foundational education in Jalna.

JEF has worked over the last 12 years with more than 50,000 students in over 250 schools in Jalna. JEF operates several educational initiatives to improve foundational literacy and numeracy among government school children in Jalna.

JEF also supports underprivileged students through scholarships and supplementary school.

Padho Jalna

Padho Jalna program aims to achieve foundational literacy and numeracy among children in Jalna, empowering them with the skills to build a brighter future.

Support a Scholar

The Support a Scholar program is designed to help in further education of talented children from under-privileged backgrounds

English Vocabulary Development

The program aims to improve the English vocabulary of children from non-English medium schools in Jalna district.

Navin Vishnuprasadji Mor

Navin is currently a Mathematics tutor in a leading coaching institute in Aurangabad earning more than 12L per annum. He comes from a very poor family background. JEF provided him financial and moral support and guidance since 2012. Navin also volunteered with JEF that helped him improve his teaching skills.

Sonam Bajaj Lathi

Sonam is a Senior Software Engineer at Stantec ResourceNet in Pune. JEF gave her a scholarship for her engineering education from 2007 to 2011. More than financial help, JEF gave her much needed guidance at critical stages. She was opting for Commerce stream after 10th and also was hesitant of going to Pune for IT jobs. JEF mentors convinced her and her family to pursue these opportunities and supported her in various ways.

Shital Ganesh Sarate

Shital is among toppers of Jalna district in class 10th and 12th classes. She comes from a humble background with only her mother working as a Tailor. She wants to become an IAS officer, but couldn't pursue it due to financial reasons. JEF facilitated so that she received financial support and guidance to pursue her dreams. Fully supported by JEF, she is currently pursuing B.A. from Modern College, Pune and studying for her IAS exams. JEF arranged for her accommodation in Pune and provided funds to join classes.
